Lewis Women's Golf Qualifies for NCAA Division II East Regional

The Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ women's golf team has qualified for the NCAA Division II East Regional, the NCAA announced April 26. It is the first appearance for the Flyers since 2022. The regional will take place at Findlay Country Club in Findlay, Ohio, May 4-6. Lewis, which enters as the No. 9 seed, is making its fourth appearance in regional play. The Flyers are joined by four fellow Great Lakes Valley Conference schools in Indianapolis, Missouri-St. Louis, McKendree and Maryville.Lewis won three straight tournaments in the fall and had a pair of runner-up finishes this spring. The Flyers advanced to match play at the GLVC Championships before falling in the semifinals to Indianapolis, who is ranked No. 3 in the region."I am extremely proud of all the accomplishments this team has had this year," Lewis golf coach said. "From our record-breaking fall season to our never giving up spring season, it really shows the grit this team has. Us making regionals proves that our hard work pays off. I'm looking forward to seeing how they do against some of the best teams in the country."After 54 holes of competition the top four teams in the East Region and top two individuals not on those four teams will advance to the NCAA Championship May 12-16 at PGA National Resort in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. There will be 98 participants in all who qualify for the finals.
