Men's Lacrosse Draws Newberry in NCAA Tournament First Round

After capturing the 2026 Great Lakes Valley Conference Championship, the Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ men's lacrosse team was picked as the fourth overall seed in the South Region in the 2026 NCAA Men's Lacrosse Tournament and will face fifth-seeded Newberry on May 10 in the first round.
Lewis faced Newberry earlier this season on February 22nd at home and won 15-8. In the win, (Lancaster, Pa./Hempfield) paced Lewis with five goals while (Tulsa, Oklahoma/Bishop Kelley HS) tied the game-high in points with five (2G, 3A). On the defensive side of the ball, (Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota/Simley HS) collected five ground balls and caused two turnovers. (Chanhassen, Minnesota/Chanhassen HS) won 11 face-offs for the Flyers in the win. In net, (Hugo, Minnesota/Mahtomedi HS) made a season-high 20 saves.

This season, the Flyers had a player named the offensive or defensive player of the week 10 times, the most among GLVC schools. Additionally, the red and whites six appearances on the USILA Team of the Week are the most of any conference school as well. The Flyers were nearly perfect at home, as they only lost one regular-season home contest for the second consecutive year.
Head coach was tabbed the co-coach of the year alongside Rockhurst's Kevin Kelley. It is the second time Perruzzi has been named the league's top coach, as he previously earned GLVC Coach of the Year accolades in 2024. On the player side, (Orchard Park, N.Y./Limestone), (Tulsa, Oklahoma/Bishop Kelley HS), (Lancaster, Pa./Hempfield)½ý²Ô»å (Edina, Minnesota/Edina HS) were all named to the first team. (Windsor, Ontario, Canada/St. Thomas of Villanova Catholic HS)½ý²Ô»å (Columbus, Ohio/Dublin Coffman HS) each landed on the second team while (Hugo, Minnesota/Mahtomedi HS), (Lockport, Illinois/Lockport Township HS), (Delafield, Wisconsin/Kettle Moraine HS), (Rockford, Mich./Rockford)½ý²Ô»å (Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota/Simley HS) earned All-GLVC Honorable Mention.
