Lewis Track & Field Qualifies Eight Entries for 2026 NCAA Division II Outdoor Championships

The Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ men's and women's track & field teams qualified eight entries for the 2026 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships, set for May 21–23 in Emporia, Kansas.
(Naperville, Ill./Naperville North HS) qualified in the long jump after capturing the GLVC Championship title with an NCAA provisional mark of 6.30 meters. Hernandez enters the national meet as one of the top long jumpers in Division II and is the reigning NCAA outdoor national champion in the event.
(Plainfield, Ill./Minooka) qualified in the hammer throw after winning the GLVC Championship with an NCAA provisional mark of 65.47 meters. Graham is a two-time NCAA national runner-up, placing second in the hammer throw at the 2025 NCAA Division II Outdoor Championships and second in the weight throw at the 2025 NCAA Division II Indoor Championships.
(Loves Park, Ill./Belvidere North) qualified in the 5000-meter run following a dominant performance at the GLVC Championships, where he claimed the conference title in 14:29.10. Horgan led a strong distance effort for the Flyers and will return to the national stage after competing at both the NCAA indoor and outdoor championships last season.
(Hershey, Pa./Hershey) qualified in the 3000-meter steeplechase after recording an NCAA provisional time of 8:57.14 at the GLVC Championships. Shea earned a runner-up finish in the event and continued Lewis' strong tradition in distance events.
(Indianapolis, Ind./North Central) qualified in the 3000-meter steeplechase after winning the GLVC Championship in a school-record time of 10:19.14. Edwards achieved an NCAA provisional mark with the performance and enters nationals following one of the top seasons in program history.
() secured her spot at the NCAA Championships in the 3000-meter steeplechase after finishing runner-up at the GLVC Championships with an NCAA provisional time of 10:33.55.
(Huntley, Ill./Huntley HS) qualified in the high jump after winning the GLVC Championship with a clearance of 2.14 meters. Christian's mark set a new GLVC record and secured his return to the NCAA Championships.
(Lockport, IL/Lockport Twp HS) qualified in the 10,000-meter run after placing runner-up at the GLVC Championships with a time of 35:24.55. Bober led three scoring performances for the Flyers in the event and will represent Lewis at the NCAA Outdoor Championships for the first time in her career.
