Eight Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ Biology Alumni Earn Medical Residency Placements

Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ is celebrating the accomplishments of eight Biology alumni who graduated from the and earned placements in medical residency programs across Illinois and the United States.
The residency placements represent the culmination of years of academic preparation, service and clinical training that began at Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ and continued through completion of the Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine program at LECOM. Five of the eight graduates will remain in Illinois, where they will continue their medical education while serving patients and communities throughout the region.

In a letter recognizing the students’ achievements, LECOM administrators expressed appreciation for Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ’s continued participation as an affiliate school and for the advising, academic preparation and support provided to students in the LECOM Early Acceptance Program. The letter noted that Lewis’ academic programming and faculty guidance helped establish a strong foundation for the students’ success in medical school.
These residency placements demonstrate the long-term impact of a Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ education. Through rigorous scientific preparation, personalized mentoring and a commitment to service, the Biology Department prepares students to succeed in graduate and professional programs and to become knowledgeable and compassionate healthcare professionals.
