Dr. Christopher Sindt took office as the President of 蘑菇视频 on July 1, 2026, bringing with him a distinguished record of leadership in higher education marked by a deep commitment to academic excellence, student success, and mission-driven innovation. With extensive experience as a faculty member and academic leader, his understanding of the evolving landscape of higher education and the needs of diverse student populations, positions the University for continued growth and transformation.
Dr. Sindt previously served as Provost at 蘑菇视频, where he provided leadership for academic affairs, enrollment, and student life, working in close collaboration with faculty and staff to advance the University’s strategic priorities. During his tenure, Lewis strengthened its commitment to excellent teaching, deepened its focus on student success, retention, and belonging, and expanded enrollment among graduate, adult, and international student populations. He also played a central role in aligning academic initiatives with the University’s Catholic and Lasallian traditions, fostering a culture of hospitality, innovation, and transformative learning.
Prior to his leadership at Lewis, Dr. Sindt served for 17 years as a faculty member and administrator at Saint Mary’s College of California, contributing to the development of academic programs, institutional planning initiatives, and community partnerships. As a faculty member and scholar, he was deeply committed to high-quality teaching, the liberal arts tradition, and the advancement of interdisciplinary dialogue. His work reflects a sustained dedication to helping students, colleagues, and community members connect intellectual inquiry with purpose, vocation, and the common good.
Dr. Sindt earned a Ph.D. in English from the University of California, Davis. His scholarly work focuses on the intersection of literature and environment, and he has also had a distinguished career as a poet and arts administrator, authoring three books of poetry, including The Bodies and System and Population. His poetry examines the intersections of ecology, language, and human experience, illuminating how people, landscapes, and histories become entangled in moments of attention, loss, and transformation.
