As the first point of contact for incoming students and the Leader of  the Military Education Resource Center his duties and responsibilities include  assisting military connected students with education benefits, community  outreach, liaison to flight billing and operations for Veteran flight students,  and processing and certifying student veterans and military connected students  to receive federal benefit credit from the Departments of Veterans Affairs and  Defense education programs.
Scott earned his Bachelor of Science Degree from Southern  Utah University in 2018, and is currently working toward a Master’s Degree in  Business Administration and Professional Communication. He relocated to  Illinois in 2019 with his family from Cedar City, Utah. He is an invaluable  asset to the Office of Veterans Affairs. Scott served with the U.S. Navy as a  Hospital Corpsman and has been assigned to Camp Pendleton, CA. and Portsmouth,  VA. duty stations.
More than 500 Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ students are Active Duty  military or veterans. Many of them participate in the Yellow Ribbon Program, a  provision of the Post-9/11 Veterans Educational Assistance Act of 2008. This  program provides 100 percent of student tuition expenses, funded through Lewis  University and the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs.

                    Cory  Stallings 
              Veterans Affairs & Recruitment  Coordinator 
                    ory is responsible for the  coordination and processing of all Military related education benefits at Lewis  University, and the daily operations of the Military Education Resource Center.  Cory served with the United States Navy from 2006-2012, During this time he  served onboard the aircraft carrier U.S.S John C. Stennis (CNV 74) as an  Aviation Boatswain Mate Handling Petty Officer. Cory then cross rated to  Naval Hospital Corpsman and served at Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton helping  Sailors who were waiting to attend Field Medical Training Battalion West by  assigning students throughout the hospital and surrounding branch clinics.

Graduate Assistant
                    Rosendo  Garcia Jr. 
                    As  an Army Veteran and current Air National Guard member Rosendo is experienced  and familiar with the G.I. Bill and its recipients. Rosendo is responsible for coordinating  all assignments and objectives set forth by the Assistant Director to the  student interns. Rosendo is also responsible for helping highlight Lewis  University to Veterans, provide support services, work on retention  initiatives, and assist in training workshops for Veterans, Faculty, and Staff  at the University.  Rosendo earned his Bachelor of Science Degree from  Liberty University in 2022. He now attends Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ Aviation and  Transportation Master program. 
                    
                     Student Veteran Intern
                    VA interns are student veterans utilizing benefits from the VA who choose to  aid their local VA office as a paid intern. They are full time students at  Lewis who work among the office staff.
